Glasgow’s Specialists In Garden Lighting & Outdoor Power
We have a huge amount of experience in designing & installing garden lighting, security lighting and installing safe outdoor power supply. Although we’re based in Glasgow, we work on outdoor lighting & power supply across Paisley, Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire & South Lanarkshire.
With the Covid-19 situation forcing people in in the West of Scotland to spend more time outside, it makes sense for your garden to be as welcoming as possible. The right lighting can make your garden look enchanting, and also makes for more enjoyable socialising.
Safe, outdoor sockets & power supply are also becoming more important. If you need power for a garden room or office, hot tub, infrared heater or even sockets to charge laptops…it needs to be done properly. Unfortunately, we still see people using extension cables as semi-permanent power supplies which is extremely unsafe.
We have over 75 years’ of outdoors electrical work within the team, and we’re NICEIC approved contractors. All of this should give you confidence in the high quality of our work.
If you need garden lighting, outdoor sockets or any kind of electrical work carried out outside…please get in touch.

Driveway Lights Glasgow
Driveway lighting looks great from the road and can really add some kerb appeal to your home. There are lots of different options for lighting a drive or path, from simple lights or adding different colours that all add a different feel to the enviroment.
Fence Lights & Wall Lights Glasgow
Downlights, uplights or up-and-down lights are a great way for illuminating fences & walls. They can look great on either side of a front door, and also along fences and in seating areas. Rather than providing lots of really bright light, the lighting can be very atmospheric and can look very stylish
Outdoor Security Lighting / Motion Sensor Lighting Glasgow
Security lighting is one of the most effective ways of protecting your property from burglars. However, it’s also a great way of improving the safety of your family & guests when it’s dark. With drives & paths illuminated correctly, there is far less chance of tripping or falling.
LED outdoor lights provide great illumination and the bulbs last far longer than traditional bulbs. We can install lights with simple switches, timers & PIR motion sensors which are only activated by movement. Please get in touch if you’d like to arrange a free quotation for security lighting / outdoor motion sensor lighting.
Outdoor Sockets Glasgow
Outdoor sockets are extremely useful as we start spending more time using tools in the garden and also for socialising. More importantly, it is far safer than having extensions cables running the length of the garden from the kitchen window.
With Covid increasing the amount of socialising that needs to take place outside, it often makes sense to fit sockets where you spend most of your time. These can be used for patio heaters, lighting, charging laptops etc, as well as for plugging in lawnmowers & strimmers. We prefer to fit sockets with an IP66 rating, which means they’re totally dust & waterproof. An integral RCD is something else we always recommend, which prevents electrocution in the event of a cable being cut.
If you’d like to discuss fitting outside sockets, please just give us a call.
Garden Room / Garden Office Power Supply Glasgow
Once you’ve decided on a new garden room or garden office, and where to put it, you’ll probably move on to thinking about the power supply. Most garden buildings come with lighting & wiring prepared, and they just need connecting to the mains by a qualified electrician such as ourselves.
This usually means an armoured cable running from a fusebox in your house, which is buried underground. The depth of the trench needs to be at least 45cm deep, with hazard tape placed over it. This is to stop anyone digging through the cable in error. It’s also possible to run a cable along a garden wall or fence, but this may not be as aesthetically pleasing.
You will also need to think about what devices you’re wishing to power from your garden room. If you know this, we’ll be able to give advice on the type of cable to ensure you have enough power for all your equipment or tools.
Exactly the same principles apply when it comes to garages & sheds, although they usually come without any lights.
If you’re needing to organise power for a garden room, garden office, garage or shed please get in touch and we can arrange a free quotation.
Hot Tub Power Supply
Whether you’re using an inflatable hot tub acrylic hot tub, you need to think about a safe power supply. No manufacturer recommends extension cables for a number of reasons. For starters, they’re not wide enough to deliver the required power & they’re not designed for prolonged use outside…and any damage becomes very dangerous.
To power a hot tub safely, you need a waterproof socket & we normally recommend an IP66 with built-in RCD. This needs to be fitted at least 30 cm above the ground and at least 2m away from the hot tub. Depending on where the hot tub is to be situated, we can give advice on the type of cable you’ll need to deliver sufficient power.
Water + electricity is extremely dangerous…so please ensure you speak to an electrician, and don’t resort to an extension cable! We’ll happily give you a free quotation, so please give us a call.
