MUGA Lighting Design

A well-designed lighting system should provide consistent visibility across the full playing area, with careful control of glare and light spill – particularly important for MUGAs located near housing.

Our designs are guided by recognised sports lighting standards such as BS EN 12193 (Sports Lighting) and industry guidance used across the UK.

Because a MUGA is multi-use, the ideal lighting level depends on how it’s being used. We can design systems that meet typical requirements for:

general community use and training sessions
structured club training
brighter settings for match play (where required)

We can also build in flexibility, so lighting can be set lower for casual use and increased for organised sessions. This helps reduce energy consumption and keeps running costs under control
