Project: LED lighting upgrade (design & installation)
Date: October, 2021
Location: Our Lady Of Good Counsel Church in Glasgow

Project Detail
We were delighted to be asked to tender for a lighting upgrade for Our Lady Of Good Counsel in Dennistoun. This church was designed by the architects Gillespie, Kidd & Coia & is famous for its modernist style of architectural features.
The current lighting system provided poor illumination. As you’ll see from the “before” photos, there was widespread use of son floodlighting. This casts a more yellow light, which makes it harder to see colour. The church ceilings were poorly lit & there were lots of shadows being cast by the pews.
We’ve installed warm white LED floodlights in the church, which helps you appreciate the colours of the pews & floor.
The light is more even, so shadows have been reduced substantially & the roof is a lot clearer. You’ll also notice that the use of 30w cool white LEDs to illuminate the lady altar & votive candles & has massively improved the colour rendition.
Not only has the lighting been massively improved, the use of LEDs will reduce energy consumption by approx 60%! We were pleased with the end-result, but what’s even better is the lovely feedback we’ve received from the parishioners!
