We recently carried out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) at a factory premises in Inchinnan as part of the client’s ongoing compliance and safety programme.

During the inspection, several issues were identified, which resulted in the installation failing the report. These included:

• An unsafe light switch

• An extractor fan had been installed incorrectly and was presenting a potential hazard

• A damaged fuse spur requiring replacement

Defects such as these can pose risks to staff safety, increase the likelihood of electrical failure and potentially affect insurance cover if left unaddressed.

Following completion of the report, we provided a detailed breakdown of observations and recommendations, allowing the client to prioritise remedial works and bring the installation back to a safe and compliant standard.

Regular EICR inspections are essential for factories, warehouses and commercial premises to ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations and to maintain a safe working environment.
